Syston Allotment Society
Our Chairman and Poultry Warden Grizz has been speaking with some local companies and has managed to encourage them to donate two 1,000 litres tanks for the collection of rainwater.
Both have been installed behind the shop and will be used by the neighbouring plots to give a grand total of 2,000 litres (that’s about the same amount of water as 47 mornings in the shower).
The tanks were installed by committee members Vin Kidger and Grizz Thorpe in early March. This is part of an overall plan to help water conservation of the entire site.
